Psychotherapist
Clinician

Hi, My name is Jin Zhang, an Asian cisgender woman
who currently practices as a Licensed Graduate
Professional Counselor in Maryland.
I was born and grew up in western China, and lived in the United States for many years. Due to my bicultural experience, I value cultural diversity and I am passionate about connecting with clients from different races, ethnicities, identities, and cultures. Also, I consistently adhere to social justice practices and have committed to serving historically marginalized populations since the entering the counseling field.
I can help with parenting needs for children ages 2 - 7 years old using PCIT (parent-child interaction therapy), anxiety and depression disorders, emotional dilemmas regarding life transitions, cultural identities, self-exploration, and women’s mental health. Also, I am experienced in serving Asian Americans, African and Black Americans, immigrants, and teens, college students.
I will work with you by respecting your uniquenesses and helping you explore your resources and potential to heal (a humanistic-existential perspective). As the Persian poet Rumi said, “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” I do believe that psychological distress allows us to grow and find who we really are. Even though the process may include some challenges, I will be your fellow traveler and support exactly where you want to go. Schedule your intake with me today.
PlayfulLeigh,
Jin
